SOFTNET MEF-55

Melamine resin with extremely low formaldehyde content.

SOFTNET MEF-55 is a melamine polymer suitable for finishing processe of cellulosic, synthetic and blends.

The product has a minimum formaldehyde content which allows, if used in the recommended dosages, to obtain ”formaldehyde free” articles.

It can be used with acrylic and / or polyurethane resins in coating processes to promote crosslinking, improve adhesion, mechanical strength and maintenance of the applied film.

SOFTNET MEF-55 can be used on bleached articles as it does not react with the chlorine developed by hypochlorite-based bleaches and therefore does not cause yellowing with loss of mechanical strength of the fiber during the ironing.

SOFTNET MEF-55 is suitable for easy-care finishing or to obtain particular shine effects in the “chintz” treatment. The product can be used with fluorocarbon resins for hydro-oil-repellent finishes. It is compatible with resins and softeners but preliminary lab trials are suggested. It confers high resilience when used on PES or Acrylic articles.
